At Solugenix, serving the larger society is not just giving back to the communities that so richly rewarded us, but an extension of the values we practice every day. For us, helping our co-workers reach their highest potential naturally extends to helping our communities reach their potential. Solugenix has always encouraged volunteer work from our team members, putting particular emphasis on Science & Technology education

Below are just some of the programs that Solugenix Supports:

CHARITY SUPPORT

Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international medical humanitarian organization created by doctors and journalists in France in 1971.

Today, MSF provides aid in nearly 60 countries to people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect or catastrophe, primarily due to armed conflict, epidemics, malnutrition, exclusion from health care or natural disasters. MSF provides independent, impartial assistance to those most in need. MSF reserves the right to speak out to bring attention to neglected crises, to challenge inadequacies or abuse of the aid system and to advocate for improved medical treatments and protocols. In 1999, MSF received the Nobel Peace Prize.

families-forward.jpg Families Forward is a California-based nonprofit organization that was founded in 1984 by a group of dedicated community members working with the City of Irvine and the Irvine Company who shared the same vision of providing supported housing programs for families in crisis. For over 23 years, Families Forward has addressed the needs of low-income and homeless families in Orange County. The comprehensive array of services offered at Families Forward empowers families to regain stability and self-sufficiency. Their homeless prevention services include career coaching, life-skills education and food assistance. These services are supplemented by the rigorous Transitional Housing Program, which has resulted in more than 4 out of 5 families successfully transitioning from dependence to financial stability and returning to being productive residents of the community.

Junior Achievement

Junior Achievement is dedicated to inspiring children and preparing them for success in the global economy. The focus is on preparing students for the world ahead of them by teaching them how to generate wealth and manage it, how to create jobs in their communities and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking into the workplace. The organization believes that all children deserve an education in economics and finances and therefore creates lessons for students to help them become intimately familiar with economics and finances.

CASA

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Orange County is a non-profit organization whose focus is on training volunteers from the community to serve as mentors and advocates for the community’s abused, abandoned and neglected children. CASA serves children who have been placed in foster care. The most serious cases of child abuse and neglect are referred to CASA so that each child gets the support and attention needed from one consistent volunteer. These volunteers provide a powerful voice for the children they support. They advise the court about the child’s status and provide recommendations to the court.

NAMI

NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, was founded in 1979. Since then, the organization has been dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by mental illness. NAMI has established itself as the most formidable grassroots mental health advocacy group in the US and finds its strength in the dedication of its leaders and members. The group’s efforts are focused on the awareness, education and advocacy of mental illness. These three areas offer hope, reform and health to the American community suffering from mental illness.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT

sciencebowl.jpg

Since the 2007 Science Bowl events, hundreds of Arizona students have competed in this statewide event. Students are quizzed on science disciplines including biology, chemistry, earth science, physics and astronomy, as well as math. Every year, the Jeopardy-style competition attracts the state’s top science and math competitors. The Science Bowl is an opportunity to get students involved in a unique and rewarding experience. Students who participate in the academic competition develop teamwork and problem-solving skills. Solugenix has been a proud sponsor of this event from its inception and provided funding and significant volunteer support for the event.

RoboticsClub.jpg

The PVHS Robotics Club is a group of about forty students at the Paradise Valley High School in Phoenix, Arizona. The program educates students in robotics and participates in robotics competitions throughout the year. Each year the students participate in the Arizona Regional First Robotics Competition (FRC). FRC challenges students to design and build a robot in just six weeks. The group’s goal is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders. The program fosters well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication and leadership.
